heartbreaking............

I have had such an emotional day today we went to my inlaws place down at yeronga not far from the river it was inundated with water....we went down today to clean the back yard up for them ,people came out from everywhere, it has restored my faith in mankind we were overwhelmed with the generocity, people were baking all night to keep us fed and cold drinks, they just kept coming .......one of the worse things i saw was my mother in law whose sewing room was washed away , she found her fabrics cottons etc up trees tangled in the mud i know she said it didnt bother her but i know different so thats where you my blogging buddies come in .....if you have any sewing needs ( fabric anything) that you no longer need i know someone who would make good use of them she loves nothing more than sewing for her 14 grandchildren....drop me a line if you can help i would appreciate it sooooooo much........thanks larz (my bestie) for everything today you worked your backside off .......until next time .......

  1. I'll have a destash and put together some things. I take it she needs everything? Seeing so many people on t.v working so hard to help out strangers is very heartwarming.
    Take care Janie, xx

  8. Jknee, what are her favourite fabric colours? I know she would probably be happy just to have fabric right now, but if she has favourites maybe we would be more likely to send what she would prefer.

  9. I could happily do a little destashing too! I'd also like details of her preferences (colours / styles) to make it a bit nicer... and would fat quarters or bigger pieces be better?

  12. Hi jknee, just popped across from selina's vintage. We were in Yeronga and Fairfield today delivering sandwiches and cake. Wish we had taken more cold water bottles, because that's what people wanted most. Sorry to hear your MIL has lost everything. I'll go through my stash and see what I can find, but if you could give some suggestions so I know where to start, that would be good. You can email an address to me at lindyannatATyahooDOTcom
